Kate Duncanson

Kate Duncanson grew up in a small village at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Clackmannanshire, Scotland. As a child she enjoyed roaming glens and exploring woods. The glorious colours of the Scottish countryside have inspired her work.

Art was her favourite subject at school but parents thought teaching more suitable for a young woman. She taught in primary schools in Scotland, then England until retirement in 2005. She has always painted and in retirement enjoys the freedom to explore many forms of art. 

Kate enjoys using water colour, pastel, acrylic, oil, graphite and the iPad. She explores landscape, seascapes, portraiture including animals, abstracts, printing and textiles. This varied body of work has led to several prizes and awards.
