On the Box

Judith Rowley is a textile and mixed media artist. She creates beautiful tactile surfaces with natural fabrics and fibres, often adding hand and machine stitching to transform them into 2 and 3D art pieces.

Each exhibition piece is the culmination of a creative journey and Judith often captures this in ‘Journey Journals’ telling the story of the work from inspiration to finished exhibition piece.

Judith is a regular exhibitor with the societies and artists’ groups that she belongs to. Her work has been seen in London at the Mall Galleries, Hoxton Arches Gallery, Glaziers Art Fair and at RDS Dublin. Closer to home Judith has exhibited work at a number of venues in the Midlands including  several textile art shows at the National Exhibition Centre . Her work is regularly seen at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists where she was awarded the Maguire Jackson Prize at the Metropolis Exhibition 2017.

Judith is passionate about her artistic practice and enjoys sharing her skills and achievements.  She offers a full programme of talks and workshops to Embroiderers’ Guilds and Art Societies both in the Midlands and further afield. Judith has been a guest tutor at the RBSA several times.
