Robbie Hornby

Robbie Hornby

A career in nursing was followed by discovering the joy of painting. Robbie studied for several years at Birmingham City University, the Midlands Art Centre and the RBSA. She continues to learn from inspirational tutors.

Her work reflects the urban environment in which she lives;  the wilder open spaces of the countryside in her travels; the intimacy found in nature. Using the shapes and colours found in these places she works from sketches and her own photographs, choosing the medium which suits the subject best. She aims to achieve depth and interest, and to evoke atmosphere and movement by experimenting with surface and application towards abstraction.

Robbie exhibits with Gallery12, Hall Green Art Society and RBSA Friends’ Exhibitions.
