Mike Skidmore

Trained as a graphic artist, Mike is a predominantly a landscape painter who favours an abstract or semi abstract approach to his native Staffordshire countryside.

Working in acrylic, he takes inspiration from the vivid colours and textures in nature. He seeks out interesting rock formations and landscape anomalies, experimenting with texture and form to create multi layered paintings on wood panels and paper.

Constantly experimenting, his process includes extensive photographic studies and sketches.

Mike is an enthusiastic member of Dudley Society of Artists and exhibits regularly, including the RBSA Open 2019.
