Keith Turley RBSA
Keith’s main subject matter is portraiture and figure subjects. After many years of working in an illustrative way, his style has become more painterly. His paintings are large, often featuring figures in interesting, perhaps work environments. Many such works have been inspired by local craft and industries, such as glassmaking and chainmaking, and have been featured in numerous Midland exhibitions.
‘I find human subjects to be the most interesting, both simple portraiture and full length figure paintings in interesting environments. After years of working in an illustrative way, I am now exploring painting using a looser, more open ended approach. I work from life as a main resource but often develop detail from photographic reference.’
