Fiona Payne

Having originally been trained in all aspects of art, design and photography and specialising in textiles Fiona currently works as a tutor. She holds weekly classes for students of all ages and regularly takes part in seminars, demonstrations and exhibitions. The inspiration for her own work begins with a fascination for line, shape, space and colour.

Her work constantly displays a love of mark making using predominantly mixed media whilst exploring texture using unusual techniques in an expressive, loose and free style. She prioritises the negative space that can be seen through and around everything. 

Her large oil and acrylic paintings take the form of realistic abstracts which have evolved from her photography and her obsession with drawing.
