Anne Irby Crews RBSA

Anne trained as a theatre designer at Central St Martins. She worked in films and theatre and was a window dresser. She then did a National Diploma in Design (fine arts) at Camberwell College of Arts.
Anne found her true vocation as a printmaker at a summer school at Falmouth in 1983. She was a founder member and secured the future of Birmingham Printmakers through a successful lottery bid.
Her work tends to be inspired by myth and legend, travel and the visible world. A visit to Russia sparked her interest in icon printmaking.
She has work in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Worcester Museum.
