David White RBSA

David White trained as an artist at Birmingham College of Art and graduated as a teacher at Leicester College of Art. Subsequently he gained an M.A. in Art Education. He taught in Midland schools until retiring early to become a full-time artist in 1996.

His early interest in collagraph printmaking was renewed and he developed his personal style of painting by combining collage techniques and oil-based printing inks. Recent visits to Cornwall have inspired him to begin a series of 6 linocuts: “Cornish Harbours”. This subject fits nicely with his theme of looking at ways in which we seek to shelter ourselves from the forces of nature.

He exhibits widely and his work is in many private collections. David White is an elected Member of the Easel Club, Birmingham Art Circle and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
